![]() ![]() The game presents the clocks as doom (they are called "doomsday clocks" after all), but really they are just a mechanism to ensure that the enemy forces advance in strength to match your own increasing strength. That said, one other thing that is important to consider is that keeping your opponents from filling up their clocks shouldn't be the focus of your strategy. Resources will come naturally as a side-product of completing missions that move you closer to victory, and such focus should serve to deny your opponents any unnecessary progress. ![]() Instead, I suggest focusing on searching for keystones and other components that you need to win the game. ![]() As a result, the missions I did earlier in the game to get more resources effectively just padded progress onto the doomsday clocks unnecessarily. Even King's Aether and Seric Steel are losing their value, in that I don't need any more Seric Steel (although I could use it, I don't need it) and the ally abilities I could unlock with more King's Aether are not critical to my success. ![]() I have found that later in the game the availability of certain resources - specifically Supplies and Aether - is much greater than is needed. Those are missions where the primary benefit is access to a large or valuable haul of resources.
